Who are the Welpen?
The Welpen are boys and girls from 7 to 11 years old who play together in a fantasy world based on the story "Jungle Book" by Rudyard Kipling. You may also know this story from the Disney classic 'Jungle Book'. It is about Mowgli, a boy who was raised in the jungle by wolves. When he gets older, the wolves decide that he must return to the human village. During his adventurous journey through the jungle, together with his animal friends, Mowgli experiences all kinds of exciting events. These adventures form the basis for the cub game, in which the cubs discover and experience new things every week.
What do the Welpen?
The Welpen are active all year round and experience all kinds of adventures in the jungle. Well-known characters such as Akela, Baloo, Bagheera, Raksha and Kaa play a major role in this. Every week the management provides a varied program full of games, crafts, knots, and earning badges. These activities are often themed around the jungle story, for example a 'hunting area' of a character from the Jungle Book.
The Cubs go to both Pentecost Camp and Summer Camp every year. Summer Camp takes place in the first week of the summer vacation.
